Mental Discipline Means success posted by UNKNOWN

These are difficult times with the recession and unemployment and stress in school. It is easy to feel depressed. Should we run to medicate ourselves or is there something else? There is and it is called mental discipline. We all need to weed our mental gardens of negative thoughts which make us unhappy and replace with positive thoughts. Negative thoughts such as anger, jealousy just bring about frustration and anger. We need to get up in the morning and recite our specific blessings we possess. Do this in the morning and at night. Stop comparing ourselves to what others have that we might not have but be thankful for what we do have. It takes time but it works!

Change Negative Behavior posted by UNKNOWN

Kids today are getting away with bad behavior and treating their parents with less respect then years ago. Many kids treat their parents as friends and not as authority figures. This needs to stop to increase the respect from children. Parents need to set limits for their children and enforce them when rules are broken. Parents need to say no more and stand up to their children with confidence. If parents appear less confident then childen will see this and take advantage of them. It is a difficult chain to break but one that needs to be broken, if there is to be harmony among parents and children. Everyone will be happier in the end.

Stress Your Strengths posted by UNKNOWN

Too many of us, look at our weaknesses and feel bad about ourselves. I feel to gain more self-confidence and happiness we need to emphasize our strengths. Write down all the things you are great at and that you enjoy. Build on these strengths. Take your positive attributes and make them even stronger. If you are an excellent soccer player and want to make a good team practice everyday at it and you will get even better. If your strength is playing an instrument, practice more and join a group where you can play with others. You will increase your friendships and improve your skill. If you do all of the above you will feel happier and more self-confident. You can also pick one of your weaknesses and try to work on it to improve that skill, too.
